‘Just had a work related Xmas lunch at the Heron on the Ford. I'm happy to say that everyone seemed delighted with the food, service the general ambience. We had drinks for an hour and lunch was served very punctually at 1.00 p.m. I had a lovely thick cauliflower cheese soup with home made (pub made) bread. It wouldn't be Xmas lunch without traditional turkey, brussels sprouts, glazed carrots, pigs in blanket etc. etc. etc.
It was perfectly cooked and the portions were just on the right side of generous. My wife had a salmon and she cleaned the plate. enough said

Here’s three of our favourite walks from the pub, suitable for the whole family and most importantly the dog. They all start and finish at the pub so you can enjoy a cold beer after all that hard work!
